Can I keep backup copies outside G7Cloud?
Yes. Point your backup schedule at your own S3, R2 or SFTP target and a copy is delivered to storage you control, outside our platform. Platform backups still run and still get restore-tested nightly; the off-site copy is belt and braces.
An off-site copy answers a fair question: what if something happened to the platform itself? With backups landing in your own bucket, your data has a life independent of ours.
It also helps with leaving well: if you ever cancel, your backups are already wherever you pointed them.

How do backups work?
Scheduled daily, weekly or monthly backups plus manual backups on demand, with incremental support. You can restore a full site, a single file or a single database. Off-site backup targets (S3, R2 or SFTP) are supported if you want a copy outside our platform.
Full answerCan I cancel at any time?
Yes. There are no lock-in contracts: cancel from the dashboard whenever you like. Your sites, databases and backups are yours, builder-created code can be exported, and you get a reasonable period to take your data with you.
Full answerHow do I know a backup will actually restore?
Because we test it. Every backup is automatically restore-tested nightly: a real restore onto a separate test server, not a quick file check. That is how we know a backup will come back before the day you need it.
Full answerDo you guarantee uptime?
We commit to 99.99% uptime, backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee rather than a service-credit scheme. You also get per-minute uptime monitoring with email, webhook and Slack alerts sent to you as well as us, a live standby copy of your database on a second machine, and an architecture where your site keeps serving even if our control system goes down.
